Library Romp: Fairport Public Library

Fairport Public Library is nestled right in the village of Fairport. In fact, the Children's Room has big windows on the one end that look out onto the canal and village gazebo. Although the library is small and dated, don't let that fool you... the Children's Room has a great selection of books and DVDs and lots of activities to keep the kiddos busy.

Logan especially liked the coloring and puzzle table. There is also a fun puppet theater with puppets and stuffed animals, and some of the book end caps have "ABC" magnets (you can see Logan playing with them in the picture below).

The Fairport library also has some really great kid's programs. I especially like that most of them are "drop-in" and don't require per-registration. Our favorite event is "Babies Morning Out". The program is geared towards kiddos ages 9 months to 3 years and held most Thursday mornings from 10:15-11:15am in the library's conference room. The event starts out with circle time... a couple songs and a story and then there is free play for about a half hour before the group comes back together for a closing song or two. During the free play there are books, puzzles, blocks, stuffed animals, balls and miscellaneous other baby and toddler friendly toys to play with.

Fairport Public Library is located in the Fairport Village Landing and is open Monday-Thursday 9am-9pm, Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, and Sunday 2pm-5pm.
